Summer is here, the sun is blazing, and honestly? Sometimes the best plan is to stay inside, crank up the AC, and binge something amazing. The good news is that the streaming services are absolutely loaded this July. From a darker Enola Holmes mystery to Will Ferrell losing his mind on a golf course, there is truly something for everyone.

I’ve gone through all the new releases across Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and more to bring you the titles actually worth your time. Let’s dive in.

Netflix: The Big Summer Hitters

Netflix is going all-in this month. As one guide nicely put it, 5summer is here, and it’s getting hotter than ever. While some are already dreaming of beaches and cocktails, Netflix is preparing for those who want to stay inside and enjoy the AC.

Enola Holmes 3 (July 1)

The biggest movie release of the month. Millie Bobby Brown is back as Sherlock’s clever younger sister, but this time things get more serious. 1Director Philip Barantini takes the helm for this darker, more mature mystery starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Louis Partridge. When her famous brother Sherlock is unexpectedly kidnapped, Enola is drawn into a tangled and treacherous new case in Malta that dangerously complicates her impending wedding to Lord Tewkesbury.

Watch if you like: Knives Out and Wednesday.

Little House on the Prairie (July 9)

This might be the most talked-about series of the summer. It’s a brand-new take on a beloved classic. 7Almost certainly the most anticipated Netflix release of the summer, Little House on the Prairie is an all-new adaptation of the seminal novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

What makes this version different? 4This updated version will expand the franchise by also telling the story from the perspective of the Indigenous Osage people, whose land the Ingallses try to settle. It’s already been renewed for a second season, so it looks like a winner.

Watch if you like: Anne with an E and 1883.

The Hawk (July 16)

For the comedy fans, Will Ferrell is back doing what he does best. 7The Hawk stars Will Ferrell as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, the top golfer of 2004. However, nowadays, he’s in the twilight of his career, unable to rekindle the magic of his former years of glory. But that’s not going to stop him. He puts aside a peaceful retirement and decides to chase one final major, even if it means dragging everyone he loves into the chaos.

The 10-episode series also stars Molly Shannon and Jimmy Tatro as his rival.

Other Netflix Picks Worth Your Time:

  • Worst Neighbor Ever (July 1) – If you love true crime, this one is for you. 16The docuseries details true stories of neighbors gone bad, from heinous fraud schemes to senseless acts of violent retribution.
  • Heartstopper Forever (July 17) – The beloved series gets a proper send-off. 4The plucky Heartstopper Forever wraps up the series with a feature-length movie.
  • Ransom Canyon: Season 2 (July 16) – The hit small-town romance drama returns.
  • Survival of the Thickest: Season 3 (July 2) – Sadly, this is the final season for Michelle Buteau’s feel-good comedy.

Prime Video: Bend and Snap Is Back

The biggest news on Prime Video is a trip back in time to before Legally Blonde12Prime Video has finally revealed the premiere date for Elle, its prequel series to the 2001 hit comedy Legally Blonde. The first season, which will debut in its entirety on July 1 on the streamer, follows a young Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) in high school.

The studio clearly believes in it, too. 12In a bold show of confidence, Prime Video also announced that the show had already been renewed for a second season.

Other Prime Video highlights include the action series Ride or Die (July 15) and Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, which drops as a full binge.

HBO Max: For the Prestige TV Lovers

HBO Max continues to be the home for big, buzzy, high-quality shows.

The crown jewel this month is the return of the Game of Thrones universe. 15House of the Dragon season 3 premieres Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max, with new episodes weekly through the August 9 finale. So if you’re catching up, July is the perfect time to be watching.

On the movie side, there are some great films arriving. 13HBO continues its partnership with A24 this month. Coming to HBO Max in July are the Zendaya-Robert Pattinson dark comedy The Drama, as well as the Sofia Coppola-directed documentary Marc By Sofia, in which she interviews her longtime friend, the designer Marc Jacobs. The Stephen King adaptation The Long Walk, starring Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson, also hits the streaming service this month.

Apple TV+ and Paramount+: Don’t Sleep on These

The smaller (but mighty) streamers have some great stuff too. 9Apple TV is offering up new seasons of Silo and Trying, along with debuting Lucky; Paramount+ is revisiting Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and introducing Diarra From Detroit.

Sci-fi fans should be especially excited for Silo Season 2 and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 (July 15).

Bonus: Don’t Forget Live Sports!

It’s not all scripted drama this summer. With the World Cup happening, Netflix even has a daily soccer show. 10Football royalty Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, and Micah Richards deliver a daily fix of banter, analysis, and hot takes from NYC during the 2026 World Cup. Netflix is also hosting the MLB Home Run Derby live on July 13.
